Welcome to our web site

Hi we're Adam and Sarah Evans. Welcome to SHIFT (Social Healing through Integrated Farming Therapy).

Our passion is working on the farm not only with animals and crops, but also with people to help them see a new way of life and to escape from their own environment. We believe that our farm offers the unique opportunity of a safe and therapeutic learning experience where people can develop invaluable life skills.

Working closely with local schools, colleges, authorities, probation and police services, this farm provides a practical learning environment for adults and young people.

The experience at the farm is greatly beneficial to clients with stress, mental health problems, drug and alcohol addictions or people who are trapped in a life of crime. The farm also reaches out to disadvantaged and disaffected youths. We offer a 'breath of fresh air' that enables clients to gain independence and self worth.

The project involves a working farm of 200 acres with 100 beef cattle, 450 ewes and 70 acres of corn, whereby clients come out to work and 'get their hands dirty' and do some 'real graft'. These clients are introduced to and become involved in the reality of a busy farm and, as they prove themselves, they are given increasing responsibility and independence in their duties. This enables them to develop confidence and self achievement. They are constantly learning new skills in a wide range of areas.
